The first page of the Imaginary Island Curriculum Sample File gives a very brief overview of the Imaginary Island Curriculum, and a quick, broad outline of the project. Much more background knowledge and detail is given in the actual Imaginary Island Curriculum. Below this information, the titles of all 30 lessons are listed.

The Imaginary Island Curriculum contain four main curriculum files:
– The Imaginary Island Student Text
– The Imaginary Island Instructor Guide
– The Imaginary Island Metric Supplement
– The Imaginary Island Printable Posters

Next up is a sample page from the Imaginary Island Instructor Guide, that goes into detail explaining the inspiration for this curriculum, how the project is structured, how it is interdisciplinary, and more. Further pages included in the Imaginary Island Instructor Guide (but not in this sample download) discuss possible pacing options, adaptation or extensions to be made for mixed-age groups, and the purpose of question based pages that appear periodically throughout the Imaginary Island Student Text.

A further sample from the Imaginary Island Instructor Guide, shows the layout of the Supply List. For convenience a lists of each lesson’s needs supplies has been gathered at the beginning of the Imaginary Island Instructor Guide. Supplies needed throughout the curriculum are also noted.

One more “getting started” sample from the Imaginary Island Instructor Guide provides additional, optional resources to extend many of the Imaginary Island Curriculum lessons. Other resources include related books, videos, websites, and/or additional project ideas. While individual lessons show their own adaptations and extensions, some external resources are also listed here.

Finally a sample lesson from the Imaginary Island Instructor Guide! Each lesson is laid out in a clear, consistent manner:
– Lesson title and a brief introduction/goal or the lesson.
– A list of any prior background knowledge students may need to successfully complete the lesson. Knowledge and work from prior lessons will be needed, as will be any assumptions made about knowledge student may have before beginning the Imaginary Island Curriculum.
– Supply list
– Main lesson sequence. Broken into easy to follow sections, the main lesson sequence contains any background needed by the Instructor, provides review and discussion questions, and additional information on top of that included in the Imaginary Island Student Text. Instructions for lesson activities are provided in an easy-to-follow format.

The Imaginary Island Instructor Guide also contains work examples and sample solution pages so that there is no question what the intended outcome of a particular lesson should be.
